Es una canción de la cantautora británica Adele y fue escrita para su segundo álbum de estudio, 21.

La canción está pasada en una relación pasada de Adele, en las letras ellas canta sobre el final de dicha relación con su ex novio, quien ahora está casado, y sin embargo, ella menciona que la relación no ha terminado para ella.

Después de una relación en los Brit Awards 2011, «Someone Like You» se posicionó en el número uno de las listas musicales de Estados Unidos.

Hay varias versiones sobre esta canción. Una muy famosa es la que canta Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. 

Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole (20 de mayo de 1959 – 26 de junio de 1997) fue un destacado músico hawaiano, especialmente conocido por sus versiones de las canciones Over the Rainbow y What a Wonderful World, a las que unió en un famoso medley llamado Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Su suave voz, su habilidad para tocar el ukelele e interpretar música hawaiana fusionada con toques de jazz y reggae, caracterizan su estilo peculiar y único. 

Padeció de obesidad, llegando a pesar 340 kg y murió afectado de problemas respiratorios derivados de su exceso de peso.

También fue interpretada en la gala de los Oscars 2014 por la cantante Pink.

Suzanne Vega es una cantante y compositora estadounidense, nacida el 11 de julio de 1959 en Santa Mónica, Los Ángeles, California.

Vega es conocida especialmente por su éxito musical a finales de los 80's con las canciones "Luka" y "Tom's Diner", ambos sencillos de su segundo álbum Solitude Standing, de 1987, que alcanzaron el top 10 del Billboard Hot 100 y de otros países a nivel mundial.

Esta canción fue escrita el 19 de febrero de 1964, por el dúo estadounidense Simon y Garfunkel, tras el asesinato de John F. Kennedy el 22 de noviembre del anterior año, como un intento de expresar el sentimiento  popular tras el desafortunado suceso.
